"I could not have been more pleased with my son's overall experience with the G-Town AAU Basketball Program. The coaches showed exceptional personal care for our son and the rest of the players in the program, and the communication with us parents was also outstanding. G-Town was a major contributor to our son's high school success, as their team made it to their end first state championship game in 72 years, and our son was 1st Team All County and 3rd Team All-State, while also receiving a lot of recruiting attention from college coaches. None of this would have been possible if it weren't for the G-Town AAU program."

The most memorable memories had to be the car rides back from the games with Coach Phil. There were ups and downs and sometimes it was all in a car ride. It was always the same groups of people in the car that got the same treatment. After bad games Coach would tell us everything we did wrong in full detail not holding anything back. When I mean nothing back I mean absolutely nothing back. When he gave his famous speeches we sometimes had something to say but every time we were shut down in disappointment. We sometimes didn’t want to hear it in our frustration but we needed that realness. We had some good games too in which we got some compliments which put smiles on our faces then followed the critiques which slowly faded that smile. He always saw the good in us even if we didn’t see in ourselves and was a father figure to all us that weren't his kids. He took us all out to eat even when we played like trash and always found something to joke around us with. He always compared basketball to the real world. All those critiques and advice still impacts me today as I pursue my bachelors. He would say something like” How you never know who is watching and you always have to give it your all because that might be your opportunity”. I took that advice to heart and carried it with me everyday. The car rides were so short at the time but a lot of wisdom from the old man gave me perspective that I needed. I’ll never forget those moments because they’ll be with me forever.

"Gtown," an AAU basketball group that offers a setting that is beneficial to individual development in a number of areas. As a former Gtown athlete, I learnt discipline, teamwork, and resilience, all of which has been useful in my college experience. This organization gives a community of support, mentorship, and guidance, all of which help people grow both on and off the court.
